Gakpo and one more: Man Utd planning €125m January transfer offensive

Manchester United are preparing a transfer offensive in the January window and are planning moves for two players after the World Cup is over.
The Red Devils have been looking to strengthen in many areas ahead of the winter window and have already lined up targets for when the window opens in January.
They wish to sign a forward as they are short in that position and that need has been increased following the contract termination of Cristiano Ronaldo this past week.

Now, according to reports, Manchester United will spend big on two names in January and could well spend upwards of €100 million come January.

They’ve already pointed out that Cody Gakpo is the top priority for Erik ten Hag in the transfer window and the manager is known to be a huge admirer of the player’s talents.

PSV will be looking to get around €60 million for Gakpo, which is up from what they wanted in the summer after seeing his great start to the season and the World Cup.
His price could well rise even further if Manchester United don’t act quickly enough and judging by how he has been playing on a stage as big as the World Cup, there will be a lot more interest in him.
The other target in their sights is Martin Zubimendi, who has come through the youth ranks at Real Socided and has been attracting interest from Europe’s top clubs.

Mundo Deportivo also suggest Manchester United are monitoring his situation and may face competition from Barcelona for his signature.
If Manchester United move for both players, it could cost them around €125 million, adding to mega amount Erik ten Hag spent over the summer in his first transfer window.
