Klopp admits Nunez would've scored more goals if he was playing for Man City

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is eager to avoid comparisons between Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland, while admitting that the new Reds striker would have more goals to his name if he were at Manchester City at the moment.
Nunez and Haaland were two of the most eye-catching Premier League transfers made in the last window, as Liverpool and City broke the bank to bring the young talents to England.
It was the Uruguayan who struck first blood with a fine goalscoring debut in the Community Shield, prompting some to ponder whether City had not erred in signing the former Dortmund star.

Haaland has hit back in spectacular fashion, though, smashing 15 goals in his first nine Premier League games as City have settled early into yet another title challenge.
Liverpool and Nunez, meanwhile, have struggled at the start of the term, with the striker having netted just twice in the top flight to date; but Klopp believes that is also a reflection of the team's woes.
'Nunez would have a couple more'
“Let me say it like this, I think Darwin Nunez would have scored a couple more goals if he had played in the centre of Man City this season,” he told reporters ahead of Sunday's meeting with City and Haaland.
“We have to improve our game to bring him more often in these situations.”
Klopp went on to insist that he is not concerned with parallels to City's record-breaker, and hopes that Nunez is also unmoved by such links.
“I don’t know, but I hope it is not in a process where he compares himself with Erling Haaland,” he added.
“Don’t compare, I hope he is not doing that and doesn’t think about that. I don’t see that.
“We are in our situation and we want to sort our situation and that is all we are concerned about.”
