‘Martinelli signs new Arsenal contract’ – Ornstein
Gabriel Martinelli has signed a new contract with Arsenal, brining to an end a period of speculation over his future at the club.
David Ornstein reports that the Brazil international winger has penned a contract with the Gunners that runs until the summer of 2027.
His previous agreement with the club ran until 2024, although the club had a two-year option in that contract which would have allowed them to keep him until 2026 even if this new deal had not been agreed.

Martinelli arrived at Arsenal in 2019 from Brazilian side Ituano for €6.7 million and has played 76 times for the Emirates side and has returned 18 goals. Such a deal would be blocked now because of Brexit legislation and was only possible at the time because the player holds an Italian passport.
He has become an important member of Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad in that time, having initially been added as a prospect. Already this season, he has scored seven Premier League goals, a personal best, doing so in just seven games.
How Arsenal would have looked with a dream January
What is Gabriel Martinelli’s transfer value?
Martinelli has seen his Expected Transfer Valuation (ETV) shoot up since signing on at Arsenal. It was around €4.3m when he joined but it has since leapt to €32.3m – and will increase further when his contract extension is taken into account.
Gabriel Jesus (€64.1m) and Bukayo Saka (€62.3m) are the Arsenal players who currently have the highest ETV.
There was never any serious doubt that Martinelli would sign a new deal with Arsenal, with widespread reports indicating that he had agreed a contract circulating in January. Nevertheless, this signing will offer Arteta’s side some peace of mind in the second half of the season as they attempt to go on and win the Premier League.
The Gunners enjoy a five-point lead at the top of the table ahead of Arsenal and will face Sean Dyche’s Everton on Saturday in the early kick off.
