Man Utd proven right to sign Hojlund over Harry Kane
Manchester United have been proven right for refusing to negotiate for Harry Kane as Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy leads Bayern Munich a merry dance.
United had originally made Kane their top target for the summer transfer window, having priroitised the signing of a world class number nine.
However, reasonably early in the window, United decided to pull out of negotiations.

The reason for this, according to multiple sources, is because United wanted to avoid the usual transfer games of Levy.
United didn’t want a protracted transfer saga that would rumble on until the end of the window with no guarantee of success. Instead they moved for Rasmus Hojlund, signing the Atalanta wonderkid for €75m plus €10m in add-ons.
The decision by United has proven correct in terms of planning for the new season, as Bayern Munich are now discovering.

While United now have their number nine, Bayern still are without one. They have found negotiating with Levy almost impossible.
On Friday, they tabled an increased bid of €100 million for Kane. Levy refused to respond to the offer and instead flew to the United States on holiday.
Kane could stay at Tottenham
The Daily Mail reports that there is now the possibility that Kane will stay at Tottenham this season, with Spurs hoping they can persuade him to sign a new contract during the 2023-24 campaign.
Bayern have already seen a €95m offer rejected for the Tottenham striker.
Bayern are ready to pay a club record fee for the Tottenham record goalscorer and legend.
But their offer is still some way short of Tottenham’s demands as chairman Levy is asking for at least €116m in order to sell.
Kane’s contract expires in 2024, meaning that Tottenham have to sell the England star this summer or else they risk losing him for free next year.
Bayern have made the signing of a top-class number nine their summer priority and Kane is the main target on their shortlist.
Kane wants to leave Tottenham
Kane is also understood to want to move to Bayern.
This is not the first time he has eyed a transfer away from Tottenham but has been denied by Levy.
Kane was close to leaving Spurs in the summer of 2021. Manchester City were very public in their desire to sign Kane in a €100m-plus deal and it was a transfer that the striker was desperate to make.
However, Tottenham chairman Levy would not sell, even reportedly refusing to pick up the phone to hear Man City’s offer.
This led to the attacker allegedly not turning up for training for the best part of a week, although the Euro 2020 star denies he refused to train.
Kane eventually stayed but could finally leave this summer.
