Another HUMILATION for Maguire as Man Utd re-sign former star
Harry Maguire's Manchester United career looks to be all but over with the club re-signing 35-year-old veteran centre-back Jonny Evans for their pre-season tour of the USA.
Maguire was stripped of the United captaincy on Sunday, having already lost his place in the side to Lisandro Martinez, who followed Erik ten Hag from Ajax last summer, and now a player six years his senior could act as cover next season.
Evans will travel to Edinburgh as the Red Devils take on Lyon at Murrayfield on Wednesday, before meeting up with the youth squad in San Diego while the first team are in New York.

Maguire won't be in Scotland, and could be left at home all together as United look to expedite his sale, with London trio West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur and even Chelsea among those the most likely to meet the England man's £40 million asking price.
Evans signs short-term deal
"Experienced defender Jonny Evans has signed a short-term deal to enable him to take part in Manchester United's upcoming pre-season games in Edinburgh and San Diego," read a statement on Man Utd's official website.
"The Academy graduate had been training with the Under-21s whilst considering his options, following his departure from Leicester City at the end of last season."

Whilst there is no commitment to sign Evans beyond the summer, it is the latest in a series of blows for Maguire, who remains the most expensive centre-back of all-time following his £80m arrival, also from Leicester, in 2019.
Evans won three Premier League titles and a Champions League in his first spell with United, playing 198 games before his 2015 move to West Brom.
"…whilst I'm personally extremely disappointed, I will continue to give my all every time I wear the shirt," Maguire had tweeted on the captaincy news, but it now seems he won't pull on the jersey at all next season.
