The Daily Mail report that the Red Devils captain has concerns that he will be dropped by Gareth Southgate if he ends up staying at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag has dropped the centre-back for the most part, even using Luke Shaw as cover for him at times this season. Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are the first-choice centre-backs over the 30-year-old.

There will reportedly be a whole host of offers for Maguire though, with Paris Saint-Germain said to be among them. Aston Villa, West Ham, Roma and Inter Milan have all been linked with Maguire as well.

Man Utd are not actively trying to sell Maguire, who has two years left on his £190,000-a-week contract, but may look to cash in if the right offer comes in for the player.

Ten Hag snubs Maguire

The Dutchman seemingly referred to Bruno Fernades as the club ‘captain’ during an interview.

Ahead of Man Utd’s game with Aston Villa, Ten Hag told MUTV on the attacker’s availability. “Of course he's ready, it's Bruno Fernandes. He's tough, he takes responsibility, he wants to play and, of course, we're happy he's there because he's a big player for us and he makes a big impact in every game. He's our captain, so we're really happy.”

Of course, Maguire is the club’s official captain -while Fernandes has been filling in with the England international dropped.
