"He can't defend!" Koeman SLAMS Man Utd target
Ronald Koeman took a swipe at Manchester United target Jeremie Frimpong in his latest press conference.
The Dutchman has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga since his January 2021 move to Leverkusen, bombing down the right flank with his blistering pace and terrifying German defences.
The Werkself have been much improved under Xabi Alonso and Frimpong's form has been a big reason for their revival under the Spanish legend. The 22-year-old has made a name for himself as arguably the most dangerous defender in Germany's top flight, racking up seven goals and nine assists in 35 outings across all competitions.
Accordingly, his good form has earned him repeated links to some of Europe's biggest clubs, with Manchester United among the most prominent suitors. Erik ten Hag is said to be a fan of his compatriot and is reportedly keen on bringing him to Old Trafford.

Not everybody is quite as impressed with Frimpong as Ten Hag, however, and Netherlands head coach Ronald Koeman certainly belongs in that camp.
The former Barcelona manager did not call Frimpong up to the Dutch squad for this international break, and he has now revealed why.
What did Koeman say?
Speaking to the media ahead of fixtures against France and Gibraltar, the Oranje boss answered questions concerning the absence of the right-back.
"No Frimpong? This is because of the system that we play in," Koeman said. "He plays almost as a right winger. My right back should be able to defend well in the first place and I have my doubts about that." The 22-year-old will have to watch his country's upcoming games from the comfort of his couch.
