Real Madrid are bullish about their prospects of signing Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund next summer, with a €100 million (£87m) deal in the pipeline, according to a report.

The England international midfielder is one of the hottest topics in football transfer news, with the 19-year-old also wanted by Manchester City Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea in the Premier League.

Los Blancos, though, are said to be confident of landing the former Birmingham City youngster.

Real Madrid to win Bellingham transfer race?

The Sun reports that Real Madrid leaked the news of their interest in the player to Marca earlier this week in order to show the player how serious they are about signing him. Indeed, the Bernabeu side are now briefing journalists that talks have opened between themselves and Dortmund.

The addition of Bellingham is an important piece of Real Madrid’s plan to renew their midfield, with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric already into their 30s. Casemiro, meanwhile, was sold to Manchester United in the summer following the arrival of Aurelien Tchouameni.

With Eduardo Camavinga waiting in the wings as an apprentice at the club, Madrid need a third player to complete their renovation job and they feel that Bellingham is the man most suited to the task.

Real Madrid have, therefore, made an incredibly early attempt to secure him for 2023. Their design is to win over the player and the club as quickly as possible and make it impossible for others to make a move.

Bellingham was linked with a move away from Dortmund in 2022, but the Bundesliga side were unwilling to see him depart following Erling Haaland’s move to Manchester City.

Indeed, Haaland’s presence at the Etihad has been tipped as a factor in City’s favour should they go after Bellingham again this summer, but despite this, Real Madrid still see themselves in pole to land the Dortmund star.
