'Not Kylian Saint-Germain!' - Mbappe puts PSG future in doubt with social media attack
Kylian Mbappe has launched a frustrated attack on PSG via social media.
The 24-year-old attacker, whose Estimated Transfer Value of €142 million is the biggest in world football, has claimed that he does not want to solely be the face of the Ligue 1 club after seeing an advertising campaign for season tickets next season dominated by his face.
PSG had to fight to have Mbappe sign a new contract last summer amid interest from Real Madrid, but the uncertainty of the player’s long-term future continues to dog the club, with Los Blancos continuing to hold an interest.
Kylian Mbappe: Goals, assists, results & fixtures in 2022-23
Certainly, the Spanish side will still be keeping tabs on the France international, who became just the second player in history to score a World Cup final hat-trick as Les Bleus were defeated by Argentina in the 2022 showpiece.
Taking to Instagram, Mbappe posted in French: “I took part in the viewing of the campaign to have season ticket holders renew their deals for the 2023/24 season. At no time was I informed of the content of the interview. It seemed to be a standard interview during a marketing day with the club. I am not in agreement with the published video.
“This is why I fight for my individual image rights.
“PSG is a huge club and a big family but it is not Kylian Saint-Germain!”

Mbappe's image rights battles
Mbappe has shown a willingness to fight over image rights in the past, having become the first France player to strike over commercial deals that he had no say in. In particular, he took exception to promoting fast food and betting companies without his consent.
If he has an uneasy truce with the France national team, this public outburst against PSG will only heighten the suspicion that he is open to a move to Real Madrid or a Premier League giant imminently.
