Real Madrid’s ‘diabolical plan’ to sign Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe might have rejected the opportunity to sign for Real Madrid for a free agent in 2022, but the PSG attacker is still coveted by the Spanish giants.

The future of PSG’s superstar striker remains uncertain, with his contract at Parc des Princes only running until 2024.

Now Real Madrid are ready to hatch what is being described as a “diabolical plan” to seal a transfer for Mbappe this summer.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid could profit from the financial issues that PSG are presently suffering from. Having made a loss of €368 million in 2021/22 and boasting a wage bill of €729m, the Parisians will have to make sales this summer to avoid sanctions from UEFA relating to Financial Fair Play (FFP).

Mbappe, meanwhile, receives the highest gross wage in the PSG squad by some distance. Madrid believe that this could prompt PSG into a sale.

Although Los Blancos have Brazilian wonderkid Endrick joining the club in 2024, they want a renowned forward to be part of their squad, and Mbappe is still favoured, despite his behaviour a year ago, which earned him the ire of the fans.

Messi and Neymar’s future at PSG also in doubt

Mbappe is the member of PSG’s superstar attacking trio, which also includes Lionel Messi and Neymar, that is considered the most indispensable by the club.

Of the three, Messi looks the likeliest to leave this summer, with the World Cup winner’s demands over a contract branded “scandalous”. Barcelona looks a possible destination for the Argentina international, though the Catalans’ financial problems are an obvious stumbling block.

PSG, meanwhile, would love to sell Neymar and there has been interest from Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United, but a deal could prove complicated.

Mbappe’s future could be tied to that of Neymar. If the Brazil international leaves, PSG will have the financial power to retain the France star, but if not, Real Madrid’s hopes of landing the superstar could become live.
