The midfielder was eyed by Newcastle last summer, FootballTransfers heard from those close to the club’s recruitment.
Sucic has played 57 games in the Austrian Bundesliga over three seasons, netting nine goals in total.
Of course, Liverpool have Jude Bellingham as their main target and it is understood they have enough funds to bring in another star into that role.
Sucic is liked as well as Khephren Thuram of Nice and Kouadio Kone of Borussia Monchengladbach, with the club intent on bringing in a young player who can develop into that position in the middle of the park. Declan Rice is also admired but is not considered a priority at this stage.
Liverpool's list for the summer
There have been further news reports of Liverpool wanting Mason Mount recently, with outlets claiming that he has turned down a fresh contract at Stamford Bridge. We as exclusively revealed the club and the player have a direct line. There has been contact between the two parties as early as January.
As we reported earlier, Mount will not be signed in place of Bellingham and FSG will provide enough money to Jurgen Klopp so the German can bring both in if he wanted.
The owners wish to supplement Klopp and allow him to overhaul the squad for next season.
Furthermore, as we previously reported, Liverpool have an interest in Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig, as their main target, but it’s more likely they will action moves for Antonio Silva of Benfica or Goncalo Inacio at Sporting CP.
Jarrad Branthwaite is on their list but given the club’s rivalry with Everton, the side may struggle to bring the English centre-back in. The defender is also very fond of PSV Eindhoven, where he is currently on loan. The Eredivisie side already made failed bids for him on a permanent basis in January.
