Barcelona considering options for Sergio Busquets' replacement
Barcelona are in limbo over the future of their midfield as Sergio Busquets’ future is uncertain and they haven’t decided if they’re making any signings.
Busquets is in the final months of his contract at the Camp Nou and Barcelona are debating whether to offer him a new deal or not.
Additionally, they are considering several external replacements that could take up his position but are undecided on who to move for.

According to reports, there are five midfielders they have targeted but plenty of pros and cons with signing any of them in the upcoming months.
Barcelona eyeing midfield options
Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad has been most linked with a move to Barcelona but the problem facing the club is that he will cost too much to get.
It’s believed that Real Sociedad will want upwards of €50 million for the midfielder and that is something Barcelona can’t afford to spend.
Ruben Neves is the other option, and Joan Laporta – the Barcelona President – is a fan of the player but Xavi is not particularly keen.

Then, they are also targeting the Chelsea duo of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante, both of whom are out of contract at the end of the season.
Jorginho is not an easy deal to complete as he is in negotiation with Chelsea, while Kante wants to see how Barcelona perform in the second half of the season before making a decision.
Sofyan Amrabat is the final option they’re considering after his impressive World Cup with Morocco as they reached the last eight, but the problem is that his price is increasing, which doesn’t work in Barcelona’s favour.
Who Barcelona go for remains to be seen, but what’s clear is that they have to make a move to replace Busquets, or learn as quickly as possible whether Busquets is extending his stay.
