Man Utd leading chase for Osimhen
Manchester United are leading the chase, as they have made the signing of a number nine their priority this summer following the release fo Cristiano Ronaldo in November.
Il Mattino reports that Osimhen would like to join Man Utd, as it is his dream of playing in the Premier League.
Chelsea also would like to sign Osimhen as they play to sign a natural striker in the summer, too.
But Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has slapped a €170m asking price on Osimhen, a fee that would make him the third most expensive player of all time after Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
It remains to be seen whether even Man Utd and Chelsea would be prepared to pay that kind of money.
Osimhen has been in majestic form in 2023, with only Marcus Rashford scoring more goals in Europe’s major leagues this calendar year.
He was particularly devastating in the Champions League last-16 as he scored three times as Napoli thrashed Eintracht Frankfurt 5-0 on aggregate.
