Weghorst prepared to pay MILLIONS for Man Utd move
Manchester United are keen to bring over Wout Weghorst on a loan deal from Burnley, but have an obstacle as he is currently away on loan at Besiktas.
Erik ten Hag is keen to add a forward to his side as Manchester United are thin in that area, with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford being their only senior options.
The manager has spoken about his desire to add another forward for the last month, especially after Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract was terminated in November 2022.

Now, Weghorst has emerged as a solid stop-gap option and like Manchester United, the player himself is keen to get a deal done as quickly as possible.
Weghorst willing to pay compensation
There has been a difficulty in getting this transfer done as both Burnley and Besiktas are looking for some sort of compensation because Weghorst is currently on loan at the Turkish side.
He moved to the Super Lig outfit in the summer following Burnley’s Premier League relegation and has done fairly well there, scoring nine goals in 18 appearances for the club.

The forward even earned a place on Louis van Gaal’s side that travelled to the World Cup with the Netherlands, and he scored twice in the quarter-final defeat to Argentina.
Ten Hag feels he is the ideal profile for the squad, and Weghorst wants to move, willing to pay the compensation fee - reportedly £
2 million - out of his own pocket to get the transfer to Old Trafford.
Wout Weghorst has more goals in club football than any current Man Utd player:
🥇 WOUT WEGHORST- 169
🥈 Bruno Fernandes - 132
🥉 Christian Eriksen - 112
4️⃣ Marcus Rashford - 106
5️⃣ Anthony Martial - 100

Manchester United have been linked to a host of attacking players in the last month but haven’t made moves for them, with Weghorst reportedly their top target since the World Cup.
The likes of Joao Felix and Cody Gakpo have been linked but they are set for other Premier League clubs, leaving them a free run at Weghorst, of whom Ten Hag is a big fan.
