Gravenberch demands 'change' at Bayern amid Liverpool speculation
Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has admitted his frustration with his playing time and has warned that things ‘have to change’ due to his role ‘not matching his expectations’.
The 20-year-old joined Bayern from Ajax last summer for €18.5 million, however he has made just one Bundesliga start this season while playing under 700 minutes in all competitions.
Gravenberch is still highly rated as one of the brightest young midfielders in Europe, prompting interest from Liverpool, however Bayern have told teams that the Dutchman is not for sale.
DEAL?: Liverpool 'agree' Gravenberch terms
Speaking to Dutch outlet Vi, Gravenberch stopped short of commenting on speculation linking him away from Bayern, insisting he would ‘wait’, although he could not hide his impatience at his situation.
“In the beginning, of course, I had to get used to it here, a new environment,” Gravenberch said. “Everything goes so much faster, sometimes training sessions just felt like competitions. But I feel that getting used to it has been behind me for a while now.
“Training and playing at the top level for a year is beautiful and instructive. Although playing, it is mainly training. That has to change next season, then I really want to play weekly again.
“I haven't spoken to the club management yet, so just wait and see what happens. But it is clear that this role does not match my expectations.”
Liverpool keen to sign Gravenberch
Liverpool are long-term fans of Gravenberch, having wanted to sign him last year prior to his switch to Bayern, and they are expected to test the German outfit’s resolve over the wonderkid this summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are desperate to rejuvenate their lacklustre midfield on the back of a disappointing campaign and Gravenberch is seen as an alternative to Jude Bellingham, who is unlikely to be pursued due to Dortmund’s asking price in excess of €100m.

Bayern have stated that they have big plans for Gravenberch next season and that he is not for sale, however a bid of €40m is thought to be a tempting proposal for the Bundesliga side.
Liverpool want to sign at least two midfielders this summer, with Gravenberch a top target along with the likes of Mason Mount, Moises Caicedo and Matheus Nunes.
