Won Arsenal the title? Piers Morgan has not watched Ronaldo at Al-Nassr
Arsenal’s title challenge could be mathematically over by Saturday night – if the Gunners lose at Nottingham Forest, Manchester City will be crowned champions – but it could have been so different had they just signed Cristiano Ronaldo.
Well, that’s what Piers Morgan thinks anyway. In typically outspoken fashion, the controversial celebrity Arsenal fan claimed that Ronaldo’s goals would have seem Mikel Arteta’s side over the line.
To that bold assertion, we have one response: has Morgan watched Ronaldo since he swapped Manchester United for the and Al-Nassr?

Taking to Twitter as he so often does, Morgan even suggested that Ronaldo was interested in a move to Arsenal. He wrote:
“Mock all you like, but if we’d signed Ronaldo when he left Utd, until the end of the season – as he was keen to do [by the way] – we would have won the league. He knows how to win major trophies, and how to score goals when it really matters.”
That’s interesting – because Ronaldo has only found the net twice from open play in his last nine appearances for Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo's worst season?
If Ronaldo is struggling to score goals in the Saudi Pro League, what is there to say he would have been banging them in for Arsenal?
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has had arguably the worst season of his career: he found the net just three times in his final 16 outings for Man Utd – twice against Europa League minnows FC Sheriff – and was dropped by Portugal for the World Cup knockout stages.
Besides, Arsenal’s assault on the Premier League title didn’t fall apart due to bluntness in attack – they’ve scored two or more goals in 10 of their 12 league games since the beginning of March – it did so largely because William Saliba’s injury absence exposed the Gunners’ lack of strength in depth at the back.
