Cristiano Ronaldo has officially left Manchester United with immediate effect following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan, which aired after Man Utd's final game before the World Cup break.
He was expected to leave Manchester United during the summer of 2022 after issuing a transfer request, but couldn't force a move away. But, he has now left the club.
The Portuguese legend had returned to Man Utd in the summer of 2021 in a shock transfer from Juventus in the closing days of the window.

Although he enjoyed another impressive 2021-22 season individually, Man Utd as a team endured a dismal campaign, finishing outside of the Champions League places.
Ronaldo desired to leave Man Utd in July and August to join a Champions League team but he was unable to find a new club.
He thus reluctantly remained to play under new Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag in 2022-23, but will not see out the season.
Ronaldo started on the bench during Man Utd's first Premier League game of the season on August 7 against Brighton at Old Trafford.
He was introduced early in the second half with United trailing 2-0 and despite helping to inspire a much-improved performance after the break, the Red Devils still lost 2-1.
Worse was to follow a week later, though. Man Utd travelled to Brentford expecting to pick up their first win of the season. Instead, they were defeated 4-0, with Ronaldo powerless to stop the slide. At full-time, Ronaldo trudged off the field and ignored Ten Hag, in what was a sign of the growing tension between the pair.
Ronaldo was then left on the bench for the home victory over Liverpool, the type of match he would typically have relished playing in, fuelling questions over his future at Old Trafford once again.
Against Southampton away from home, Ronaldo was left on the bench once again, but was brought on and struggled to make an impact. He suffered a blow early on, going down with a problem in his knee, but recovered to play the rest of the match.
He was once again a substitute against Leicester in a 1-0 away win. This time, however, he was brighter in his performance off the bench, even going close with a spectacular overhead kick that would have been an incredible way to open his account for the season.
The transfer deadline passed on September 1, meaning Cristiano remained at Man Utd.
He was on the bench for a fourth successive game against Arsenal, and while it proved a 3-1 victory for the Red Devils, Ronaldo was unable to provide anything tangible in the form of a goal or assist.
His first strike of the season arrived against Sheriff in the Europa League - and it was also his first career goal in that competition. Ronaldo was given a start as Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford were injured and his goal came from the penalty spot.
Ronaldo's status did not improve after the September international break as he was left on the bench for the entirety of the Manchester derby. United suffered a humiliating 6-3 defeat to Man City at the Etihad on October 2.
After hitting a blank versus Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League, Ronaldo finally scored his first Premier League goal of the season on October 9. He came off the bench to score the winner at Everton from a Casemiro through ball.
Ronaldo made successive starts for the first time in the home matches against Omonia Nicosia and Newcastle but hit blanks in both.
That led Ten Hag to return him to the bench for the visit of Tottenham. He caused controversy in this game by refusing to come on as a substitute and leaving the match early. This led to him being banished from the squad for the 1-1 draw versus Chelsea.
After apologising, Ronaldo returned to play the full 90 minutes in the wins versus Sheriff and West Ham, scoring in the former, before grabbing an assist in the Europa League win over Real Sociedad.
He made little contibution despite playing the full 90 minutes in the 3-1 defeat at Aston Villa on November 6.
He then sat out the last two games before the World Cup break, wins over Aston Villa in the EFL Cup and Fulham in the Premier League.
Then came his interview with Piers Morgan, which has led to his exit from Man Utd.

Ronaldo completed a surprise return to Man Utd after 12 years away when he left Juventus in the final days of the 2021 summer transfer window.
All in all, Ronaldo enjoyed an excellent season individually but it was a disaster from a team point of view as Man Utd endured their worst campaign since the Premier League was formed in 1992, finishing sixth and winning no trophies.
They earned their worst points tally, worst goal difference and suffered the most defeats ever in the Premier League era. They were knocked out of the Champions League in the last-16 and failed to qualify for the next edition.
They suffered a host of embarrassing defeats, as they were hammered 5-0 and 4-0 by Liverpool, 4-1 by Man City and relegated Watford and also suffered bad losses to Young Boys, Leicester and Middlesbrough.
Ronaldo, though, finished the campaign with very impressive individual numbers of 24 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions.
With 18 Premier League goals, only Mohamed Salah and Heung-Min Son scored more.
He delivered a number of clutch goals, with crucial late strikes in the Champions League versus Villarreal and Atalanta (twice), while he hit hattricks against Norwich and Tottenham.

Juventus were knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage by Porto, while Inter ended the club’s historic run of nine straight Serie A triumphs, resulting in the departure of coach Andrea Pirlo.
Ronaldo did win one trophy, playing in the final of the Coppa Italia as Juve triumphed over Atalanta.
For his goalscoring efforts in Serie A, the Portugal international won the Capocannoniere for the first time in three attempts in Italy's top flight.
Ronaldo took that award after scoring 29 times in 33 league games (31 starts).
Across all competitions, he finished with 36 goals from 44 outings (41 starts), just one goal less than the 37 he had managed in the previous year and significantly more than the 28 registered in his first season.
