EXCLUSIVE: Man Utd and Harry Maguire agree to summer transfer
Manchester United have put Harry Maguire up for sale this summer and the player himself wants to leave, FootballTransfers has learned.
United have been working on a sale for several months now, even as early as before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar in November and December.
Back then United held a meeting to determine Maguire’s value. They slapped a €41 million (£35m) asking price on Maguire’s head and they are determined to receive a fee this summer that makes a sale worthwhile.

Maguire also wants to leave Man Utd, FootballTransfers understands.
The main reason for this is because Euro 2024 takes place at the end of next season and Maguire wants regular first team football to ensure he keeps his position in Gareth Southgate’s England starting XI.
The 30-year-old has dropped to fifth choice in the centre back pecking order at United, with left-back Luke Shaw even preferred to him recently in the absence of first-choice centre back pairing Lisandro Martinez and Varane.
Maguire is also behind Victor Lindelof, who Erik ten Hag rates higher than the Englishman.
Ten Hag is keen to keep Lindelof, who he believes is a useful player providing he is not partnered by Maguire.
The clubs who are interested in Maguire include Tottenham, Everton and Aston Villa.
It is also possible that Maguire could look abroad, with the Bundesliga and Serie A a possible destination.
Maguire has endured two miserable past seasons for Man Utd, ever since Euro 2020.
After an error-prone 2021-22 season, he finally lost his place in the first team during the past campaign.
When Maguire has played he has often struggled, including two huge errors in the Europa League quarter-final defeat to Sevilla.
Maguire joined Man Utd from Leicester in a world record deal for a defender in 2019.
He has made 175 appearances and scored seven goals for the club.
Elsewhere, FootballTransfers has also learned that Fred could leave Man Utd this summer. His contract expires in 2024 and United are considering a sale to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
