Mount to Man Utd deal given FINAL DEADLINE
Manchester United want to get a deal for Mason Mount done before the end of next week, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils have been trying to engineer a move for the Chelsea star basically since the season ended. Yet the major issue has always been the stark divergence between the Blues' valuation of their academy product and the money Manchester United are prepared to pay.
Both of United's offers were immediately rejected by Chelsea, who want at least €80 million for the midfielder. The feeling is, however, that they will be prepared to listen to bids below that since they know that there is no chance of tying Mount down to a contract extension. The fear of losing the player for free is bigger than the fear of missing out on €10m or €15m.

Indeed, according to our information, Chelsea are willing to take €70m for the 24-year-old. Fabrizio Romano has mentioned that United want to get a deal done quickly and this has also been backed up by our sources, as we have reported.
The Italian has now corroborated the date by which United want to have this deal wrapped up.
A United player by July 1
We reported that Erik ten Hag wants to have the transfer finalised by the end of the month and the player officially at his disposal on July 1. Romano has now stated the same thing.
"Understand sources feel Mason Mount deal has to be completed by the end of next week [i.e. the end of the month]," he wrote on Twitter.

"Manchester United will bid again as said yesterday," he continued, "but [they] insist [on a] quick resolution - [they] won’t keep negotiating for too long."
Despite this close deadline of July 1, there is confidence at United that a transfer will materialise and that Mount will be at Old Trafford before long, after all, personal terms have long since been agreed upon.
