Benfica boss ignores Barca Nunez links

Benfica boss Jorge Jesus refuses to be drawn in on rumours surrounding Barcelona’s attempted move for striker Darwin Nunez.

Nunez has been linked with a move to the Catalan giants in recent times, but speaking in the aftermath of his side’s 3-0 defeat to Boavista last night, boss Jesus ignored such reports.

“It makes no sense to talk about that [the Barcelona links], I do not comment on it and I prefer to talk about Benfica,” said Jesus, as per Spanish outlet Sport.

It’s thought that Barcelona would make an attempt to sign Nunez in the winter transfer window.

The striker only signed for the club last summer from Spanish side Almeria for an estimated €24m.

Nunez has scored once in six league games so far this term.
