The Germany international has made only one Premier League appearance this season, with Frank Lampard preferring Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma as his first-choice centre-back partnership.

“I can’t be satisfied with my situation, but the fight has been accepted,” Rudiger told ZDF.

“What will happen in January is a long way off. I’m completely relaxed.”

Rudiger’s number of Premier League appearances fell to 20 last season, and things have deteriorated dramatically this term.

The ex-Stuttgart star has been linked with a transfer to Barcelona in January, with the player having one eye on regular game time ahead of Euro 2021 next summer.
