Lopetegui signs new Sevilla contract
Sevilla have announced that they have extended the contract of coach Julen Lopetegui until June 2024.
Lopetegui’s initial contract was set to run until the end of next season but he has been rewarded for his fine work with a new deal.
The 54-year-old took over Sevilla at the start of the 2018-19 campaign and immediately led the club to Europa League glory in a memorable run that included wins over Manchester United in the semis and then Inter in the final.
They also finished fourth in La Liga and this season are well in the running for another Champions League finish.

They are on an excellent nine-game unbeaten run, winning 3-2 over fellow top-four chasers Real Sociedad on Saturday.
Lopetegui has led Sevilla into the last 16 of the Champions League where they will meet Borussia Dortmund.
As it stands, the former Real Madrid and Spain manager has the best win percentage record in the club’s coaching history.
