Mesut Ozil transfer news: Arsenal ace’s Fenerbahce move to pick up pace
The agent of Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has stated that his client’s expected move to Fenerbahce is expected to be pushed through in the coming days.
Ozil has been on the periphery of life at Arsenal for months and hasn’t played a minute under Mikel Arteta this season.
The former German international has been linked with a move to MLS side DC United in recent times, but it seems the 32-year-old will be playing in Turkey, as he nears a move to giants Fenerbahce.
His agent, Erkut Sogut, was speaking to beIN Sports about Ozil’s future, and stated that the move had slowed down due to the effects of the pandemic, but that the process will be able to move ahead at a quicker pace.
“Because he was in Germany to be beside his family before he is having to quarantine in London at the moment,” said Sogut.
“Either today or tomorrow that will finish, I’m not totally sure from Thursday it’s been five days. His quarantine is near to finishing basically. Either today or tomorrow it will finish.

“There are some rules from this country’s government that five days after returning if you do a test and you’re not positive then you can leave the house.
“He’s going to do something like this. And then after that of course the restrictions will be over and he will be able to go wherever he wants.”
Ozil joined the Gunners in 2013 from Real Madrid for a club record fee at the time, believed to be in the region of £42m. He was a casualty of Los Blancos signing Gareth Bale from Tottenham that same summer.
The playmaker went on to make 254 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, scoring 44 goals and providing 77 assists.
His last game for the club came in the 1-0 win against West Ham in March, in which Ozil assisted Alexander Lacazette for the winner.
