Sancho among Dortmund’s eight-man list of players to sell
Jadon Sancho is one of eight players that could leave Borussia Dortmund this summer amid concerns over reduced income as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The German club were pleased to have fought off interest from Manchester United before the season began, but now appear to wish they had sold their highly rated winger.
The 20-year-old has been unable to recapture his exceptional form of last campaign, with many attributing it to the collapsed move to Old Trafford. BVB are now keen on selling Sancho for a reduced asking price of £88m, according to German outlet WAZ,
With Dortmund having lost €26m in TV revenue and a significant amount on ticket sales, Sancho is not the only player that they will look to sell in order to deal with their financial struggles.
Manchester City and Chelsea target Erling Haaland is joined by Axel Witsel, Manuel Akanji, Mahmoud Dahoud, Giovanni Reyna, Jude Bellingham, Raphael Guerreiro on the list of players that could make way.
Haaland’s £68m release clause comes into effect in 2022 but clubs will be lining up to add the Norwegian star should he become available later this year.
Additionally, Dortmund’s end to the season will be a key factor in any of the club’s outgoings, with key players wanting to play in the Champions League.
Edin Terzic’s side currently sit four points off the Champions League places, with 14 games remaining in the Bundesliga season.
