Pochettino praises Kean’s prolific PSG form
Moise Kean’s work at Paris Saint-Germain has been recognised by head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
The on-loan Everton striker arrived at PSG in October and has found the net on 13 occasions in 25 outings for the Parc des Princes outfit.
Kean’s latest effort arrived against Nice on Saturday. With Pochettino’s side struggling at 1-1 at home to Nice, his close-range header from Mauro Icardi’s pass stole three vital points in the Ligue 1 title race.
Only three days earlier, he had netted the only goal of the Coupe de France match against Caen.
Despite his scoring record, Icardi has wrestled the No.9 spot from him since returning to fitness.
Pochettino remains impressed by how the 20-year-old Kean is performing, though.
“I think he played a good match and he scored,” the Argentine said of the former Juventus striker. “I’m happy with his performance. He can play anywhere along the attacking line and he also scored against Caen in the cup.
“We’re satisfied with everything he’s done.”
Will PSG sign Moise Kean?
Even if Pochettino’s words for Kean were not the most enthusiastic, Kean’s performances at PSG have been such that the Parisian club must consider him as an addition to their attacking arsenal for next season.
PSG, however, did not manage to have a purchase option inserted into the loan deal they struck with Everton, which could complicate matters.
The better Kean performs for PSG, the greater his asking price from the Premier League club will become.
Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti, however, has previously indicated that there is a willingness on the part of the Goodison Park outfit to sell.
Kean himself has also hinted that he would like to stay at PSG.
