Oscar Mingueza signs new Barcelona deal until 2023
Barcelona have announced Oscar Mingueza has signed a new, extended contract with the club until the summer of 2023.
In the midst of a defensive crisis earlier in the season which saw Gerard Pique, Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet all injured at the same time, Mingueza was promoted from Barcelona B to provide cover for his senior team-mates.

He has impressed so much that he has become a full member of the senior side, making 21 starts in his debut season in La Liga.
Mingueza’s ability to play as part of a back three or a back four has also been of use to head coach Ronald Koeman who has switched formations a few times this campaign.
Though there were no real doubts about his future, Barcelona have tied him down another two years.
Mingueza’s reaction to Barcelona deal
Mingueza was, naturally, elated that the deal had been concluded.
“It’s a dream come true,” he told the official’s official Twitter page.
“I’ve been working many years for this objective, to sign a contract with the first team. I am really happy and I am really proud to have this chance after all the support that I’ve received.
“It has been a long process, I have suffered a lot. I also enjoyed good moments, but I am very happy with the job I have done and the chances they have gave me.”
Mingueza actually made his debut for Barcelona in Europe, coming in as a late replacement for the injured Pique ahead of a Champions League clash against Dynamo Kyiv.
