‘Disrespectful’ Mane blasted for showing Klopp the cold shoulder after Man Utd win
Liverpool legend Graeme Souness believes Sadio Mane was “disrespectful” and should have shown more respect after the forward was filmed giving Jurgen Klopp the cold shoulder.
Liverpool picked up a vital three points at Old Trafford on Thursday night as they beat Manchester 4-2 to move within four points of a top four finish.
The Anfield side also have a game in hand over fourth-placed Chelsea and could now steal a cherished spot in next season’s Champions League if results go their way between now and the end of the season.

Thursday night’s win was largely facilitated by goals from Robert Firmino and Diogo Jota, as well as a late finish from Mohamed Salah.
However, while Klopp was proven right in the end by picking the front three, it meant Mane was dropped to the bench for the match and despite coming on in the 74th minute was clearly frustrated with his diminished role in the team.
Sounnes: ‘How can Mane argue? He’s not had a great season’
After the match, Klopp walked through the pitch high fiving players from each side but when he got to the Senegal international he was met by a blank expression, before Mane turned away from his manager.
And while it may have been nothing more than a momentary spark of frustration, Souness believes it shows a huge lack of respect to Klopp and Liverpool.
“Disrespectful. If I was the manager I wouldn’t be happy,” said the former Liverpool midfielder on Sky Sports after the game.
“He should show a bit of respect. It’s disrespectful to the manager and the club. How can he argue? He’s not had a great season and Liverpool have won here 4-2″.
Souness may have a point. Not only has Mane only managed to score 14 goals in 45 appearances for Liverpool this season but the wide forward has also only managed two in his last 10 games for the club.
