Pique accused of calling Suarez fat
Gerard Pique has been accused by the Spanish press of calling former teammate Luis Suarez a “fat man” during an altercation in Saturday’s Barcelona versus Atletico Madrid clash.
Suarez made his first return to Camp Nou since his controversial free transfer move from Barca to Atletico last summer.
One of the biggest flashpoints of the game came when Suarez appealed for a penalty after a clash with Barca goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

This infuriated both Ter Stegen and Pique, who felt that Suarez was trying to con the referee.
First of all the German shot-stopper offered the Uruguayan some choice words before he was joined by the Spanish defender.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Pique sniped to Suarez: “You’re fine, fat man, don’t screw with me.”
The top-of-the-table clash ended goalless, a result that was a big blow to Barca’s title chances as they remain two points behind leaders Atletico with three games remaining.
The biggest winners of the weekend could be Real Madrid, who can go top if they beat Sevilla on Sunday.
As for Suarez, he has enjoyed a brilliant season in the Spanish capital and has well and truly proved wrong the doubters who said he was finished at the age of 34.
The veteran has scored 19 La Liga goals and has been Atletico’s key man in their journey to a potential league triumph.

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman admitted earlier this season that it had been a mistake to allow Suarez leave for Atletico.
“It would have been better if Luis Suarez signed for Juventus instead of Atletico Madrid because he’s still in the Spanish League,” the Dutchman stated in February.
Suarez had been set to join Juve but the move fell through due to problems with his passport.
