Rennes confirm Man Utd and PSG talks over Camavinga
Eduardo Camavinga’s potential move to Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain is subject to official discussions between the clubs, Rennes sporting director Florian Maurice has confirmed.
Camavinga is one of the most highly rated young players in the world game, and with just a year left on his deal is primed for a move away from the Ligue 1 club.
Although Real Madrid and Arsenal have been credited with an interest in the past, it is Man Utd and PSG leading the way for his services.
And Maurice has confirmed that talks between the clubs have been opened over Camavinga, who has been given a value of €100 million.
Speaking to Ouest France, he said: “For the moment, we don’t have an agreement on one side or the other. For the moment, Eduardo is here.
“There are discussions that exist between the clubs, with the player as well. We still haven’t found a solution.
“Either we find a way to extend his contract, or a club is interested in Eduardo and we’ll reflect on the proposal that we’re given.
“We’re not obliged to sell a player who has a year left of his contract. Today, there has been no official proposal on the president’s desk.”
No official offers for Camavinga yet
There is no offer tabled for the 18-year-old France international, Maurice confirmed.
“There are certainly clubs that want Camavinga,” he added. “He has a price as well, and there will have to be an agreement at that level.
“We’re waiting to see what will happen. I don’t think Eduardo will want to leave Rennes for free. Either we will find an agreement this summer with a club, or we’ll find a solution to extend his deal.”
Who are favourites to sign him?
Reports indicate that PSG are favourites to sign Camavinga because the player wants to remain in France during this early stage of his career. Man Utd are, therefore, second favourites.
