Kroos: Mbappe 'one of the best' so should play for Real Madrid
Toni Kroos thinks Kylian Mbappe is ‘one of the best’ players in the world and, as such, is someone that Real Madrid should be looking to sign.
The German midfielder also spoke about his desire to remain at the highest level, with Los Blancos, and add to an already stellar career.
French superstar Kylian Mbappe could certainly help the club to do just that, as a potential long-term replacement or even strike partner for 33-year-old Karim Benzema.
Madrid worked tirelessly in the summer transfer window to bring the World Cup-winning forward to Santiago Bernabeu but Paris Saint-Germain were adamant about keeping hold of their man.
Despite Mbappe’s contract having just a year left, the Parisian outfit turned down three offers with the final bid approaching £200m (€230m).
PSG might be the only team in world football, especially given the global pandemic, to be able to reject such an offer.
Mbappe to Real?
However, the 13-time Champions League winners are still expected to complete the striker's signing sooner rather than later.
Given Mbappe's contract situation, in January foreign clubs will be able to agree a pre-contract deal that will come into effect at the start of next season's transfer window, and Madrid remain heavy favourites to secure his signature.

And while potential future teammate Kroos believes in the current Los Blancos squad's ability, he cannot deny that Mbappe would be a huge addition to the side.
"In the summer I already said that I would like a player like him to come, but if he doesn't we have a good team," he told Goal.
"Let's see what happens in the future, it is difficult for me to say because I am not the one who decides. His quality has not changed, he is a good player and what we know is that Madrid wanted to sign him but in the end they didn't succeed.
"Everything continues, also without Mbappe here. I think we are doing well and for the future my opinion has not changed: the best players have to be at Madrid and he is sure to be one of them."
