Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted that Erling Haaland is “seduced” by Real Madrid.

Haaland is arguably the hottest young property in Europe after an incredible 18 months at Dortmund.

Dortmund resisted all interest in Haaland this past summer but it is widely expected that the attacker will move on at the end of the campaign when a release clause will be activated in his contract.

WHO ARE THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS IN THE WORLD?

Virtually every top club in Europe is interested in signing the 21-year-old, including Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona and, particularly, Real Madrid.

Will Haaland be playing for Madrid next season?

And Watzke, who has labelled reports that Dortmund will be forced to sell Haaland due to the club being listed on the stock exchange as “bull**it”, admits that the attacker is seduced by Madrid’s interest.

What did Watzke say about Haaland?

“It has not yet been decided whether he will actually leave next summer. We’ll see,” Watzke told reporters.

“He is an independent personality. Anyway, at some point he will play in one of the best clubs in the world, although he is already playing in one of the best clubs in the world. But I know, of course, that Real Madrid seduces him.”

“The ball is in Erling’s court.”

There have been numerous reports in the Spanish media that Real Madrid plan to sign both Haaland and Kylian Mbappe next summer in order to form a sensational attack.

Mbappe is out of contract at PSG at the end of the season, meaning Madrid will not have to pay a transfer fee and that will go towards funding Haaland.

Haaland joined Dortmund in January 2020 from Salzburg and has been a major hit in the German Bundesliga.

He has scored 68 goals in 67 games in all competitions for Dortmund and was named as Bundesliga Player of the Season in 2020-21.
