Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly told friends that he'll be leaving the club at the end of the season, with Manchester United interested in his services.

Pochettino's contract runs out at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, but it appears he won't make it into the final 12 months of his deal.

The 49-year-old is fed up in Paris, with question marks raised over both his performance and style of play, according to Foot Mercato.

The ex-Tottenham man's lack of influence over transfers is also an issue.

Indeed, failure to sign Tanguy Ndombele from his former club has damaged his relationship with sporting director Leonardo.

The Ligue 1 club were also interested in acquiring Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele in the January window, but that move never materialised either.

However, Le Parisien are reporting that there is a chance Pochettino is sacked before the end of the season.

PSG recently lost to Nice in the French Cup round of 16, but do sit 11 points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

Pochettino to Man Utd?

Manchester United appointed Ralf Rangnick as interim manager not long ago, following the departure of club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, the German is expected to move into a supervisory position at the club once the season finishes, unless he is kept on in his current role.

But, if the last month is anything to go by, United will look to replace Rangnick with one of Europe's elite coaches, such as Pochettino.

The Argentinian was immensely impressive in his time in the Premier League, leading Southampton to the top-half, before getting Tottenham as close as ever to the title.

He also made the Champions League final with Spurs, in one of the tournament's most spectacular runs, before losing to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool 2-0.

There are uncertainties over Pochettino's lack of silverware, but he is expected to add the Ligue 1 title to his resume, and he was never expected to win a trophy until his time in France.

Should he be given the job at Old Trafford, United will be expected to improve considerably, but whether it will be enough to topple arch rivals Manchester City and Liverpool remains to be seen.
