'We’ll never have a better owner' - Fans react to Abramovich selling Chelsea
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has confirmed that he is selling the west London club.
The Russian billionaire had been under pressure to do so by both the media and the UK government.
Many believed that his alleged involvement with President Vladimir Putin meant that he was no longer fit to run the club, given the conflict in Ukraine.
Now, the 55-year-old is looking for the right person to take over following his 19-year, trophy-laden reign.
Mr Abramovich has decided to sell Chelsea Football Club

Fans react to news of Abramovich selling Chelsea
Chelsea fans have previously shown concerns over the club's future beyond Abramovich, given the great efforts he has made to take them to the pinnacle of the sport.
But, for now, Blues fans are focused on thanking the Russian for his impact on the side that are currently World and European champions.
Roman gave us so much investment, but most importantly it wasn’t just a toy to him, he developed a love and passion with the fans and club, his standards led us to constant success, and people inside the club said he cared about the club from top to bottom. #ThankYouRoman pic.twitter.com/HfB7TLsoer

Roman Abramovich with one hell of a statement. He isn’t taking any loans and is ensuring money goes to the victims in Ukraine via the foundation. This on top of helping the NHS and much more. He ainit perfect, most billionaires aren’t but we’ll never have a better owner. 💙

Chelsea fans could even be heard singing Roman Abramovich's name at Kenilworth Road, ahead of their FA Cup tie with Luton Town.

In addition to his heartfelt message to the Chelsea faithful, Abramovich has, surprisingly, outlined his intent to help Ukrainian citizens.
The 55-year-old is not looking for the club to repay the debt of over billion pounds, and will donate any net proceeds to a charitable foundation for Ukrainian people.
Roman Abramovich’s statement is something else. No loans to be repaid and all proceeds going to the people of Ukraine. That’s a big middle finger to Putin and, since it’s not about the money, means he will find the right buyer. Class act.

Roman Abramovich really took Chelsea over, made them one of the biggest clubs in the world, won every trophy there is to win and now is not even asking for his investment back AND he’s gonna give the money he makes from selling to victims in Ukraine.

All proceeds of the sale of Chelsea (£2-3bn) will be donated by Abramovich to a charitable foundation to aid victims of the war in Ukraine.

There is also excitement within the fanbase over the club's potential new owners, despite the success of Abramovich's tenure.
Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss is reportedly working with American billionaire and part-owner of the LA Dodgers Todd Boehly on a bid to buy the club, which has been received well - due to the success of the baseball franchise.
Roman Abramovich is literally writing off £1.5bn debt owed to him by Chelsea. I think it's safe to say that whoever he sells to he will make sure we will be in good hands.

I must say, the LA Dodgers comes across as a very good organisation in terms of ambition, financial power, recruiting superstars & competitiveness…

Chelsea were here before Roman Abramovich and we will be here after. Chelsea had success before Roman Abramovich & we will after. I am not fearful. Sad, but not fearful. If this is the end, then big gratitude & appreciation to a man who is a fan first and has done so much for us. pic.twitter.com/04rXd0QRrp
