Sergio Aguero has suggested he could come out of retirement after a period of rest and rehabilitation for his heart issue.

The Argentine spent a decade at Manchester City before moving to Barcelona this past summer, but his time at Camp Nou proved to be something of a nightmare.

He joined the club in order to team up with close friend Lionel Messi, but the forward was forced into a move to Paris Saint-Germain for financial reasons.

Aguero then suffered an injury in pre-season that meant he was unable to make his debut for the club until October 17 against Valencia.

He scored his first goal for Barcelona in the Clasico, though it proved to be a late consolation against Real Madrid.

Aguero was set to miss at least another three months of action after suffering a cardiac arrhythmia in a game versus Alaves in October.

He was brought off the pitch after complaining of dizziness as well as chest pains.

However, it was later announced that the heart issue would force him into retirement.

At the time, he told TYC Sports.

"Today I want to play, but I'm scared. I trained all my life to the maximum and in big competitions. I don't watch football or the news, I don't care what's going on.

"I concentrate on what I like the most, like friends. Returning to play comes into my head from time to time but I know it's something I can't do.

“They told me I was lucky because I could easily have had a heart attack. Now it time to relax. I'm happy with what I'm doing.”

A return for Aguero?

It now appears that there might be light at the end of the tunnel for Aguero, as he has explained that he will assess his situation in six months after a period of rest ordered by his doctors.

The former Man City superstar also revealed that he has already received an offer to return to play by David Beckham's side, Inter Miami.

"Yesterday, it crossed my mind that I could play again. Inter Miami called me but I refused. In two years? Let’s see," he spoke to TYC Sports.

"The doctors told me that I have to spend five or six months without activity, but I already want to train again!"

Aguero joined Man City for £35 million from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and played a fundamental role in their rise to the top of English football.

Five Premier League titles, six League Cup wins and one FA Cup victory; his trophy cabinet is stacked.

Along the way, he made 390 appearances for the club, scoring 260 goals in all competitions to become the club’s all-time record goal-scorer.
