Chelsea do NOT need Dybala
Paulo Dybala will leave Juventus on a free transfer this summer, with Chelsea one of several teams interested in his services.
Dybala had agreed a new contract with the club worth around €10 million a year towards the end of 2021 but pen was never put to paper officially.
Juventus then attempted to change the terms as they were concerned by the Argentine’s constant injury problems – he has suffered six physical problems in 2021-22.
Eventually, after weeks of delayed talks, Juventus decided not to renew Dybala's contract.
''The most important change is that Juventus have not renewed Paulo Dybala’s contract,'' Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene earlier this month.
''With the purchases made in January, with the arrival of Dusan Vlahovic, Paulo’s position was no longer at the centre of the project. That’s why this kind of decision was preferred.
''We made our choices in January, we got here. It would have been easy for Juventus to make a low bid, but it would have been disrespectful towards Paulo. The decision is made. Today’s meeting was friendly, clear and respectful.''
Now, Chelsea are heavily linked with signing Dybala this summer on a free, but west London is not where the 28-year-old should end up.
Chelsea do not need Dybala
Chelsea are clearly keen on upgrading their forward line. Ousmane Dembele has been rumoured, and now so too has Dybala.
That is because Romelu Lukaku isn't firing, and neither are many of the other attackers.
However, Kai Havertz, who happens to be the Chelsea player most similar to Dybala, has been in fine form in recent weeks.

The 22-year-old has made the false nine position his own, proving to the many doubters that he does have the potential to become a world-class forward in the Premier League.
As such, Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea should have their sights set on maximising the ability of the German star, as well as fellow youngsters Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic.
The trio, complimented by the more experienced Hakim Ziyech and Romelu Lukaku, are already impressive but could go on to reach the heights of Manchester City and Liverpool's front lines if given the necessary game time.
Dybala would hinder their progress, and only the very best players should be given the license to do that.
