Ronaldo hails impact of Aubameyang and Xavi after Clasico thrashing
Brazilian legend Ronaldo has hailed the impact that Xavi and January signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have had on Barcelona.
Barcelona hit the headlines on Sunday evening after thrashing bitter rivals Real Madrid 4-0 in the Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It was the latest in a line of brilliant recent performances from the Blaugrana, who have been reborn under manager Xavi.
The former midfielder took over the Blaugrana in November with the club struggling down in mid-table.
They are now on a 12-match unbeaten run, comfortably in third place and fighting to win the Europa League.
What did Ronaldo say about Xavi?
"I follow Spanish football and I love it," Ronaldo, who enjoyed a memorable season with Barcelona in 1996-97, told reporters.
"With the crisis that Barca has had very recently, they have improved a lot with the arrival of Xavi.
"Now I have seen a great team live, a very aggressive and vertical team, which presses with the traditional qualities of Barca. This Barca looks very good, they were amazing in the Clasico.
"Football is not as simple as people think. Managing a dressing room, managing people, it entails problems and you have to know how to manage it well. Xavi is doing very well.”
Ronaldo, who also had five successful years at Real Madrid as a player, also hailed Aubameyang.
The Gabon star arrived at Camp Nou in January on a free transfer from Arsenal and has had an incredible start in Spain.

He scored two and made one in El Clasico and already has nine goals for his new club.
What did Ronaldo say about Aubameyang?
"I love how he moves, how he finishes,” Ronaldo added.
“He has the characteristics of a traditional center-forward, but he also has the speed to go into space. He is a great striker and a great signing for Barca.”
