Salah to leave Liverpool? Why his agent has sparked transfer fears

Mohamed Salah’s prospects of a transfer away from Liverpool appear to be increasing, especially after a tweet from the player’s agent Ramy Abass Issa, which apparently came in response to a comment made by manager Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp has been tight-lipped over the future of Salah, whose contract at Anfield expires in 2023.

With less than 18 months left on his deal, it is a make-or-break period in the Egypt international star’s future. Liverpool will likely sell him in the summer rather than risk losing him for nothing if he does not sign a new contract.

Abbas Issa, though, has apparently been left unimpressed by Klopp as he simply posted a tweet with seven laughing emojis.

This came in response to the Liverpool manager’s press conference on Friday.

Speaking to the media, Klopp said: “We cannot do much more. It is Mo’s decision. It is all fine from my point of view. Nothing happened further, no signing or rejection. We just have to wait, there’s no rush.”

Abbas Issa appears to be insinuating that Liverpool are not, in fact, doing everything in their power to keep the 29-year-old attacker at the club.

Salah a hero at Liverpool

Salah has achieved cult hero status since arriving in 2017 from Roma, during which time he has led Liverpool to the 2018/19 Champions League as well as their first ever Premier League title.

Although Salah’s overall attitude on the field has won over the Anfield support, he has been particularly admired for his goal production. He has scored 152 times for Liverpool in 237 appearances while he has created 57 more.

Should Salah come on the transfer market, there would doubtless be numerous suitors for the Liverpool attacker. Paris Saint-Germain, for example, are said to have long coveted the forward while Real Madrid could be another option, depending on the future of Kylian Mbappe and Dortmund ace Erling Haaland.
