Haaland given transfer warning by Germany legend
Former Bayern Munich and Germany striker Jurgen Klinsmann has warned Erling Haaland against a premature departure from Borussia Dortmund.
Haaland is likely to be at the centre of a massive transfer battle at the conclusion of the current season.
Over the last 12 months, every elite side in Europe has been linked with the Norwegian including Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich as well as Liverpool.
Haaland has emerged as the hottest property in the transfer market in that time, and will reportedly be allowed to leave if a release clause of €75 million is triggered.
It is believed that the overall outlay on the player will be closer to €350m due to his and his agent's salary and bonus demands.
At the moment, the two clubs allegedly leading the race to sign Haaland are Real Madrid and Man City.
Real Madrid are planning on signing Kylian Mbappe as a free agent this summer, but club president Florentino Perez is keen on pairing the duo together as part of a new Galactico project.
As for City, reports emerged this week that they are willing to make Haaland the best paid player in the history of the Premier League and will offer him £500,000 per week.
What did Klinsmann say about Haaland?
Klinsmann believes that Haaland should think very carefully about his next move, though, as there are no guarantees of success away from BVB.
"You have the chance with Dortmund to challenge Bayern Munich and you're a big part of it," Klinsmann explained.
"He's a big, big piece at Borussia Dortmund. You can keep on giving it a shot with Borussia Dortmund.
"If you decide to go somewhere else, which is understandable but if he decides, there's no guarantee that wherever you go that you're going to win those titles right away.
"You see what happens in Spain right now. If you talk about Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico, there's always a question mark about who makes the run at the end of the day. Even in England now, if he has a choice between the top four in England, there's no guarantee that you make the right choice and you win the Premier League right away there.
"I think the only place where you can really have a guarantee to get a domestic title right away is PSG, but I think they are pretty done right now with their front three.
"So it's actually not easy. If he entertains the thought now of leaving Borussia Dortmund, where is the right place for him to go? It's not an easy decision at all."
