Ronaldo enjoyed a stunning first spell at the Santiago Bernabeu between 2009 and 2018, breaking record after record.

He scored 450 goals and led the club to four Champions League titles and two La Liga crowns.

After leaving the club for Juventus in a shock move in 2018, it was believed that Cristiano’s Madrid story was over.

But a number of reports in the Spanish and English media over the weekend claimed that Madrid are considering bringing Ronaldo back.

Madrid are already set to sign Kylian Mbappe on a Bosman Transfer this summer from PSG, with the deal set to be announced officially this month.

Erling Haaland had been the number one target but it now seems as if Madrid are close to giving up on the Borussia Dortmund striker, who is set to move to Manchester City.

As an alternative, Madrid have placed Ronaldo near the top of their shortlist.

How much will Ronaldo cost?

According to the Daily Mirror, Man Utd would listen to offers of €12m for Ronaldo.

This is a transfer fee that Madrid would not have an issue with even though Ronaldo turned 37 in February.

Cristiano has shown this season that he is still one of the best goalscorers in the game, finding the net 23 times in all competitions.

Only Mohamed Salah has scored more goals in the Premier League.

Incoming Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag does not consider Ronaldo an indispensable player, while Ronaldo himself is considering leaving as he wants to play in the Champions League next season.

Man Utd are almost mathematically ruled out of qualifying for the Champions League next term.
