What are Mbappe’s wages at PSG?

The exact figures of Mbappe’s new contract have not been officially released and different sources vary as to how much he is now earning.

Mbappe’s annual salary is reported to be between €40-60 million net, with the consensus being in the middle at €50m per year.

This makes him the highest-paid player in the world and by some distance the biggest earner at PSG.

He has overtaken Lionel Messi at PSG, with the Argentine being paid €37.9m per year.

Mbappe was also handed a massive signing-on bonus by PSG that was well above €100m – and reported by some to be as high as €300m.

How much did Real Madrid offer Mbappe?

Mbappe had been on the brink of joining Real Madrid, having reportedly agreed a five-year contract worth €25m per year net.

He also was said to have agreed a signing-on bonus with Madrid of over €100m.

For much of the last two years, it had been expected that he would sign for Madrid.

Indeed, PSG ignored a €200m bid for the player last summer and then fended off strong interest from the Bernabeu side to keep him.

Before Saturday’s final Ligue 1 match of the season against Metz, PSG confirmed the news that all their supporters had been waiting for – and those of Real Madrid had feared.

What did Mbappe say?

Mbappe also said: "I’m really happy to continue the adventure here at Paris Saint-Germain. To stay in Paris, my city.

“I hope that I will continue to do what I prefer to with you all… and win titles together! Thanks a lot”.

Mbappe signed for PSG from Monaco in a €180m deal in 2017, joining the same summer as Neymar, who transferred for a world record €222m.

He has won four Ligue 1 titles during his time at the club, as well as the World Cup for the France national team.
