Endrick: Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid battle for Brazil wonderkid

Real Madrid face a fight to sign Brazilian wonderkid Endrick after Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona all entered the race to sign the 15-year-old.
The Spanish side were thought to be favourites for his signature but, given that clubs legally can’t sign players from abroad until they turn 18, they could miss out on the striker.
The teenager is touted as Brazil’s brightest prospect since Neymar and is set to sign a new three-year deal with his club Palmeiras, containing a release clause of around €60 million.
One side who are believed to be ruled out from signing Endrick is Manchester City as he is reportedly unwilling to compete with new signing Erling Haaland for a first-team spot.

Real had reportedly put out all the stops to sign Endrick and his family recently were invited to Madrid to watch a game as a guest of the club.
The youngster shares the same agent as Real winger Vinicius Junior and the club were desperate to secure his agreement as early as possible after missing out on Neymar when he joined Barcelona from Santos in 2013.
Endrick received global attention after scoring seven goals in seven games and winning the player of the tournament in an under-20s domestic tournament in Brazil.
He recently scored eight goals in six games to win the under-17 cup with Palmeiras and has netted five times in four caps for Brazil’s under-16 side.

FIFA regulations means that he cannot sign for any other side for at least two years and he has been handed a professional contract by Palmeiras, who will also look to integrate him into the first team.
He will turn 16 in July at which point he will pen his new deal with his release clause that clubs are expected to activate when he turns 18 in 2024.
