The 22-year-old talent made the move to the Ligue 1 side last summer when he joined Marseille on loan.

As part of the deal, Marseille were obligated to make the move a permanent one if Guendouzi met certain conditions, which he has since done.

Guendouzi enjoyed an impressive season for the Ligue 1 side, making 38 appearances, scoring four goals and providing six assists

His performances helped Marseille finish second in Ligue 1 and reach the semi finals of the UEFA Conference League.

Guendouzi has now confirmed that he will indeed be staying at Marseille next season.

What did Guendouzi say?

“Yes, of course. I feel very good here, and the objective is to play in the upcoming Champions League campaign,” he told Telefoot.

“I have played matches in the Europa League, and for some time now I’ve been waiting for this Champions League. I can’t wait to be there!

“Bringing a title to Marseille to me is very important. The supporters, the club, and the people of Marseille are behind us, and deserve a trophy.”

Guendouzi added that he hopes that teammate William Saliba also stays at Marseille permanently.

Saliba also impressed on loan from Arsenal this campaign but Mikel Arteta has stated that he expects him back in London next season.

“William now has Marseille in his heart, and I’m sure that he’ll come back to Marseille next season. So I’m going to keep pushing so that he stays with us,” Guendouzi said.

Both Guendouzi and Saliba have now broken into the France national team squad ahead of the World Cup later this year.
