Ronaldo suffers €3m house burglary
Former Barcelona, Real Madrid and Brazil superstar Ronaldo suffered a multi-million euro burglary at his Ibiza villa, according to reports in Spain.
The Diario de Ibiza claims that the Brazilian's property was broken into while he was hosting Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti and his wife on the island.
Footballers a target for robberies
He is one of several high-profile current or former professional footballers who have been targeted recently for current behaviour.
In June RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo was the victim of an assault perpetrated in Valencia by two assailiants, who made off with a watch reportedly valued at €30,000.
Earlier this year David Beckham's London home was also burgled, with the thief making his way into the house while the ex-Manchester United star and daughter Harper were downstairs watching television and taking several valuable items.
The ex-footballer's wife Victoria was reportedly left shaken by the incident.
“Vic is now worried about being in their London home and is refusing to stay there without David,” a source told Heat magazine.
“They had state-of-the-art security in place already but they’re ramping it up even more.”
The insider said Victoria has been having nightmares and “feels jumpy” even during the day.
“She can’t shake the feeling of knowing someone was watching them and casing the house."
