The goalkeeper is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, with his stay set to end at the end of the summer window.

The Times report that the Dutchman is well aware of Henderson and the progress he is making this season.

Other reports suggest that the Englishman is set to hold talks with the Red Devils over his long-term future after impressing at the City Ground.

The 25-year-old hasn't played since picking up an injury against Leicester in January, prompting Forest to sign Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas on loan until the end of the season.

But the new purchase has raised questions over the future of Henderson.

He is set to arrive back at Old Trafford in the summer and so far there has been no signs of a fresh deal.

ESPN reports that Man Utd are set to hold meetings with Henderson's representatives before making a decision on his future, after the side refused to include an option to make the deal permanent during negotiations last year.

Henderson wants to play regular football to help win a place in the England squad and the future of David de Gea could prove crucial to that.

The Spaniard remains locked in negotiations with Man Utd over a fresh deal.

Henderson on Man Utd

Speaking back in August to talkSport, Henderson spoke about his parent club and his excitement at being with Forest: "I didn't want the manager (Ten Hag) to come in and be able to see me in training. I knew he'd probably want to keep me, so I tried to do it all before I left for the season. I told all the hierarchy I need to go and play football, I don't want to be here playing second fiddle.

"It was all planned out. I was almost gone before the manager came through the door and I haven't spoken to him since. To be honest with you, it's probably been the toughest 12 months of my career. It's been tough, it's been hard and I'm so happy I've got out the other end of it. I'm so excited to be here and ready to go."
