"Liverpool are still s**t" - Twitter reacts to Bournemouth defeat
Supporters have flocked to social media in their droves after Liverpool’s loss to Bournemouth.
The Reds lost 1-0 to the Cherries, who lifted off the bottom of the Premier League table.
In came as a shock following Liverpool’s tremendous 7-0 win over arch-rivals Manchester United last week.
It was thought that the significant win over the Red Devils would be precisely the sort of win that the side needed to kick-start their season and push on for a Champions League place.
But the defeat to the relegation-battling Bournemouth has thrown a huge damper on that prospect, with fans now rueing the abysmal display online.
We beat Man City 1-0 with an elite performance and the next week dropped a woeful performance in a 1-0 loss to Forest.
We beat Man United 7-0 and a week later we’re losing 1-0 to Bournemouth.
Something is seriously wrong with this side.— Laurie (@LFCLaurie) March 11, 2023
They teased us into believing 4th place could happen with the previous 4 wins in 5 games. But that today probably ends any realistic chance of it now, sadly. Absolute shambles & no getting away from it. Defeat at Bournemouth is unacceptable. Season effectively over. Grim #LFC

12:30 kick off
Cursed away kit
First penalty we get all season
We miss it

#BOULIV … today’s #LFC performance every bit as bad as the win last week was good. The players & Klopp deserve every criticism that comes their way, in the same way as the gushing praise they’ve basked in all week.
Embarrassing from start to finish, arrogance throughout squad.— Eddie Gibbs (@eddiegibbs) March 11, 2023
Liverpool FC can make me feel on top of the world one weekend then feel like absolute sh*te the weekend after.
Supporting Liverpool should come with some sort of health warning. 🤣— Scouser Chris (@ScouserChrisLFC) March 11, 2023
A reminder that under Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool have lost more Premier League games against sides starting the day in the relegation zone (12) than teams starting the day in the Champions League places (10). #LFC #BOULIV

Klopp says Bournemouth deserved win
After the game, Jurgen Klopp spoke about the poor run that Liverpool have been on in recent times and how the Cherries proved to be tricky position given their precarious position in the league.
The German coach told reporters: “Results were not going in the right direction in the last few months but the performances look different and so they deserve the three points today, that's it.
"Bournemouth are fighting to stay in the league, wonderful club, wonderful city, they want to stay in and they do really well.
"In the end, a ball comes from the outside into the inside and probably it should be defendable as well but I have to watch it back."
"We cannot go through it completely, pass the ball, don't cover the space. I don't know 100% anymore how the positioning was, I need to watch it back."
