And Romano has relayed that Chelsea, at board level, have had talks about the future of the attacker, and that they want to see hin playing for them for next term.
The Italian journalist said on his YouTube channel: “What I can tell you right now is that, from my understanding, Chelsea board - and I underline board because we still don't know who's going to be the coach for next season and that's going to be an important factor - I heard is something really positive for Felix because Chelsea are planning for the potential team next season with Felix included.
“So Chelsea want to keep Felix - they are very happy with his performances with his attitude with his mentality, so the idea is for Chelsea to continue with Felix in the squad.
“The idea on the player's side is the same because Felix would be happy to stay at Chelse - he's happy with the squad, he's happy with the city. They are planning for next season with Felix, so Chelsea want him to stay.”
Chelsea's attacking targets
Felix has only scored twice for the Blues - but, indeed, the whole team have struggled for goals all season, managing just 29 in 30 league games.
Furthermore, Chelsea are also expected to make further changes to their attack in the summer - with Christopher Nkunku set to arrive from RB Leipzig.
Frank Lampard is in the dugout on an interim basis until the end of the season.
