Arsenal and Liverpool set to battle for World Cup star
Arsenal and Liverpool are watching Croatia international midfielder Lovro Majer at Rennes, according to recent reports.
The 25-year-old is not playing that many games with his current side, reports the Daily Mail, and appears to be open to a move away.
Spurs have been watching the player as they keep tally of the progress of Djed Spence.
And it is thought that the north London club, as well as the Gunners and the Reds, are taking an interest in Majer's situation.

Majer, who is highly valued by national team boss Zlatko Dalic and is a regular feature of the county, signed for the French outfit from Dinamo Zagreb - in a deal worth £11million plus add-ons in 2021.
Having agreed on a five-year contract, he enjoyed a decent inaugural campaign, netting six goals and providing nine assists. It earned him a spot in Ligue 1’s team of the season.
But this term the Rennes player has failed to hold down a regular role with the side and is now looking for a way out.
It is believed that Rennes would demand around £30m to sell him this summer.
Majer is represented by Niagara Sports Agency - the intermediaries who also have Red Bull Leipzig's Dani Olmo on their books - as well as Alvaro Morata of Atletico Madrid and Nacho at Real Madrid.
Kroenke to hand Arteta kitty
It comes after our exclusive story that Gunners owner Stan Kroenke is set to give Mikel Arteta a £200m# war chest to strengthen the squad this summer.
We understand that the club have the aim to compete on all fronts next season including embarking on a serious pursuit to win the Champions League for the first time in the club's history, following the Gunner’s sublime season.
Indeed, the American businessman will hand the Spanish boss significant funds, as well as money made from potential player sales which will also be added to the full amount.
