Arsenal star set to sign new contract before end of season
Arsenal are hoping to confirm Bukayo Saka’s contract extension before the end of the season, with a deal close to being struck after a period of talks.
Saka is enjoying the best campaign of his career and has helped Arsenal push for the Premier League title after missing out on Champions League qualification last season.
The 21-year-old has grabbed 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season and has played all but one hour of league football but narrowly missed out on a place in the Premier League team of the season.

Saka’s current deal is set to expire next summer and the club have been in talks with his representatives since last year but the winger has always been keen to commit his future to Arsenal.
The Independent report that an agreement has ‘all but been reached’ and promotional material for the announcement of Saka’s new deal has already been completed.
All that is left is for the finer details of the contract to be worked through before an announcement can be made, with Arsenal hoping to confirm the news before the end of the season, potentially to spur on a final push for the Premier League title.
Arsenal set for major summer transfer business
Arsenal were only expected to challenge for a top four position but the Gunners are still capable of winning the Premier League this season despite surrendering their lead at the top of the table to Manchester City.
Mikel Arteta’s side have qualified for next season’s Champions League and are now one point behind City, who have a game in hand, after Arsenal’s recent four-game winless run.
Even if Arsenal fail to win the league, the club’s season is still deemed a success internally, with Arteta set to be handed a significant transfer budget this summer to spend on the likes of Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo.

Attention will be given to more expiring contracts like that of William Saliba but one player who could depart is Granit Xhaka, who Arsenal will consider selling for the right price as he enters the final year of his deal.
