Martin Odegaard believes that his international teammate Erling Haaland is the best player in world football.

Odegaard and Haaland are rivals at club level, with the former playing for Arsenal and the latter at Manchester City.

But at international level, the pair are the two star players for the Norway national team.

And Norway play a crucial Euro 2024 qualification game against Spain on Sunday evening that they must win to have a chance of qualifying automatically for the finals.

With Haaland present anything is possible, believes Odegaard.

What did Odegaard say?

“Of course we have with Haaland now, maybe the best player in the world so we have to get the best out of him.

“But we’re a team and that’s the most important thing, we need the team to work together and that’s the key thing for us.”

Haaland has been a sensation since joining Man City in a €60m transfer from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022.

City beat off competition from virtually every major club on the continent to sign the attacker in 2022.

Haaland turned down Real Madrid and Barcelona in order to join the English champions.

The Norwegian enjoyed a stunning 2022-23 season with City, breaking record after record and scoring 52 goals.

This helped Man City to win the treble, which included beating Odegaard’s Arsenal to the Premier League title.

Haaland has started the new season well, also, as he is top scorer in the Premier League with eight goals in eight games.
