Ten Hag chooses SHOCK January replacement for Antony
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is considering not signing a new right winger after all in January and instead playing Amad Diallo.
That is according to Sky Sports, who report that Amad is an option to be United’s first-choice player in the right wing problem position from January.
The right wing has been a total disaster for United this season. Antony has failed to score or assist amidst off-field problems, Jadon Sancho has been exiled and transfer listed after a public falling out with Ten Hag, and no one else has made the position their own.

Amad has yet to play a competitive game this season due to a knee injury, but is on the path back to full fitness.
And the young winger could be thrust into the limelight once fit instead of signing a new right winger, as was expected to happen.
Diallo impressed on loan for Sunderland last season, scoring 13 goals and providing three assists ans Ten Hag believes he could make the step up.

FootballTransfers revealed last week that Amad is the subject of transfer interest from Wolves ahead of the January transfer window.
Wolves have already contacted the Old Trafford club over the possibility of a loan deal for the 21-year-old, having scouted the player during the reign of Nuno Espirito Santo back in 2021.
It remains to be seen whether United and Ten Hag do indeed place their trust in Amad, but FootballTransfers understands that Wolves are very interested to sign him if not.
Amad’s struggles at Man Utd
The Ivory Coast winger joined from Atalanta in a deal worth an eventual €40 million, a huge fee for an 18-year-old who had made just five senior appearances for Atalanta.
Amad was described as a once-in-a-generation talent and compared to Lionel Messi by his former Atalanta teammate Papu Gomez.
The youngster’s former coach Giovanni Galli predicted he would win the Ballon d’Or within five years.
Unfortunately, Amad has not been able to showcase his ability and potential at United so far.
He made just three appearances for United before being sent out on loan to Rangers in 2021-22 and Sunderland in 2022-23, impressing for the latter before returning to United.
